Because my boat is on a swing mooring (i.e. without shore power), these 3 units safetly keep all 3 battries on my boat in optimum condition & fully charged. We get temperatures ranging from 6C to 55C (Centigrade...yes very HOT) here in Dubai & these solar chargers have been working well for the last 2 years. Would highly reccomend them (several of my mates have purchased these as well - great value) !!!

In order to use the cigarette lighter for charging with the Solar Charger, you have to check if your cigarette lighter does heat with the car's motor off. If it doesn't, you will have to use the also included cable to connect the charger directly to the car's battery.

You won't notice a problem until you leave your car at the airport for a few days and discover that the battery won't start the car. This is the fix. Plug it in the cigarette lighter (or power outlet for us non-smokers), and place on the dash. Suction cups provided to attach it to the glass, but don't leave it attached while driving (duh). Some vehicles tend to suffer from "dead battery syndrome" more than others, but with this unit, my Camaro SS and ZO6 Corvette are immune to the problem.
